United Way of Washtenaw County Makes One Million Dollars Available for Community Impact Grants

ANN ARBOR – United Way of Washtenaw County (UWWC) will make approximately one million dollars in grant investments to local organizations and groups addressing the inequity in opportunity resulting from poverty, racism and trauma. The Community Impact Fund, along with the Justice Fund, will open on March 1, 2022.

As stewards of Washtenaw County resources, decisions about who receives United Way grants are made collectively by community members after receiving implicit bias training. We are presently seeking grant review team members who work within the local human services sector, as well as individuals who have accessed social services, to serve on our grants review team.

“We’ve heard from local organizations that flexible funding is most needed as they continue to navigate the pandemic’s impact on our community. For this reason, we’ll be providing multi-year
operating support through these grant programs.” shared Bridget Herrmann, Vice President of Impact and Advocacy.

Potential grant applicants are encouraged to attend an information session. To RSVP and access a full list of meeting dates and instructions, visit our website HERE
