Memorial Day Parade Road Closure
The Annual Memorial Day Parade/Ceremony will be held on Monday, May 30th, starting at 10 am. Parking will not be permitted along Main Street/Ann Arbor Street from Alpine to Kensington and Central Street will be closed from Main to Fifth. Parking will not be permitted on Main Street from 10pm Sunday night through noon on Monday.
City Office Closure
City Offices will be closed on Monday, May 30th, in observance of Memorial Day.
Tuesday Farmers Market
This upcoming Tuesday, May 31st, the Farmers Market will be located at Monument Park near the gazebo from 2pm to 6pm. The Farmers Market will remain at its normal location on Alpine Street for all other market days unless noted otherwise via City communication. If you have any questions regarding the market or are interested in becoming a vendor, reach out to Market Manager Marianne Wendt at farmersmarket@dextermi.gov.
Voter ID Cards & Absentee Voter Ballot Applications
In the next few weeks, the Dexter Clerk’s Office will be mailing every Dexter voter a new voter ID card with updated precinct and district information. The ID cards will also come with a letter further detailing the various changes that have occurred as a result of statewide redistricting. For voters located in precincts 1 & 3, the voting locations are being permanently moved from the Dexter Senior Center to the (future) new City Hall at 3515 Broad Street starting with the August 2, 2022 Primary Election.
Staff also anticipates that absentee voter ballot applications will be mailed to those residents on the permanent absentee voter list early the week of May 30th. To request an absentee ballot application form or to be added to the permanent absentee voter list, please e-mail Jbreyer@dextermi.gov or complete and submit a permanent absentee voter list request form, available on the City’s website at HERE. Voters must fill-out and submit an absentee ballot request form before an absentee ballot may be issued.

Did You Know? – City Council Meeting Information
Some feedback from the 2022 Dexter Community Survey indicated that some residents were finding it difficult to attend regular City Council meetings or to find more information about dates/times/agendas online. Below are some links and ways to access the meetings in-person, online and find information such as agendas and packets.
City Council meetings are held on the second and fourth Mondays of each month at 3515 Broad Street (the soon-to-be new City Hall). Regular meetings typically begin at 7:00pm. All members of the public are welcome to attend both in-person or online.
If you are interested in attending virtually, the Zoom meeting information can be found at https://dextermi.gov/calendar.php. By clicking on the name of a meeting, residents will be able to access links to the online meeting, agenda and packet. The Zoom information for an upcoming meeting can also be found on the corresponding agenda. You can also find the upcoming meetings by going to www.dextermi.gov and scrolling down to the calendar on the homepage.
