Baseball: Dreadnaughts score four in the seventh to topple Monroe

The Dreadnaughts broke a 4-4 deadlock with a four-run seventh inning in an 8-4 win over Monroe in an SEC Red Division contest on Friday. Dexter pounded out 11 hits and tied the game with a run in the sixth after scoring two in the fifth.

Monroe led 2-0 after the first inning and 4-1 after four innings. The Trojans finished with six hits and two errors.

Wyatt Novara led things off on the hill for the Dreadnaughts. The ace went three and two-thirds innings, allowing four runs on six hits and striking out three. Cam Rosen was perfect over 3.1 innings. He didn’t allow a hit or walk while striking out three.

Novara also hit a home run.

Chance Sobbry (two RBI), Cole Arnedt and Garrett Sharp (two RBI) all had two hits apiece for the winners. Braeden Fuson had a hit, two walks and two RBI. AJ Vaughn also had a hit for Dexter.
