The Dexter boys’ cross country team opened the season under the lights and it appears the Dreadnaughts have a bright future ahead of them in 2022.

Dexter left the starting blocks on Friday night at the always popular and fun Lamplighter Invitational in Livonia and crossed the finish line in fifth place out of 16 teams. The boys’ varsity race took off at 10:30 p.m. at night with well-placed portable lights set up around the course.

Northville dominated the race and finished first with 66 points, followed by Romeo (123) and Skyline (125). Detroit Catholic Central was fourth (163) and Dexter was fifth (178).
