JV Cross Country: Dreads take first in boys & girls races (WLD photo gallery)

The Dexter girls’ JV team dominated the first race of the year on Friday at the Lamplighter Invite in Livonia. The Dreadnaughts took the top three individual spots in the race and crossed first overall with 36 points. Livonia Franklin was second with 76 points in the nine-team race.

Dexter senior Megan O’Day was first in 22 minutes, 39.3 seconds, freshman Hannah Bougher was second (23:31.5) and sophomore Rhya Wright crossed third (23:32.5).

Sophomore Addison Robke was 12th (25:30.0) and sophomore Avery Lawrence was 19th (26:53.5). Freshman Aspen Taylor was 24th (27:10.9), senior Anne Kleber was 25th (27:14.0), freshman Kate Haidl was 53rd (30:48.0), senior Evie Weiszhaar was 56th (31:24.7) and sophomore Madison Bray was 60th (32:11.6).

The Dexter boys’ JV team also ran away with first place as the Dreadnaughts had three runners place in the top five and finished with 28 points. Bedford was second with 55 points out of 14 teams.

Freshman Luke Dudash ran away from the field and took first place in 19:23.4. Junior Yuma Tsubouchi was third (20:02.3), senior Will O’Haver was fifth (20:21.7), freshman Cole Doty was ninth (20:33.7) and senior Landon Wilson was 10th (20:37.7).
