Around Town: Power outage, tree branch chipping

Power Outage

However, this is subject to change.

Tree Branch Chipping

The Department of Public Works provides for the collection of tree branches and limbs set to the curb, typically on Wednesdays. However, during the spring and following heavy wind events, tree branch chipping may take an additional day due to the quantity of tree branches set-out to the curb. Under normal circumstances, brush set-out after 7 AM may not be picked-up until the following Wednesday.

All limbs, branches and brush must be stacked neatly at the curb with ends facing the same direction. Piles are limited to 10 feet in length. Individual limbs may not exceed 4 inches in diameter at base, 2 inches at leafy end. Limbs smaller than 1 inch must be bagged. Limbs, branches and brush from tree maintenance by a homeowner’s contractor are the responsibility of the homeowner or their contracted professional. To see a video on how the City’s Department of Public Works employees chip brush, please visit the City’s YouTube page.
