Gordon Hall Days will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 10 and Sunday, Sept. 11 at Gordon Hall. The popular event will feature guided tours of Gordon Hall, craft displays and demonstrations, model trains and more!
Cost is just $5 per person or $20 per carload. All proceeds benefit the restoration of Gordon Hall.
AND Saturday afternoon during Gordon Hall Days, you are cordially invited to pass the afternoon under the big tent at Gordon Hall, sipping hot or iced tea and nibbling on elegant desserts with friends.
Through period fashions created by designer Helen Welford, you will witness how the revolutionary freedoms that women fought for during the early 20th century were reflected in the styles of the time.

Gordon Hall Fundraiser Sept. 9
The Dexter Area Historical Society Golden Anniversary celebration and fundraiser will be held from 7-10 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 9. This special event will include music and dancing, featuring Billy Mack & the Juke Joint Johnnies. Join in for an evening of popular music and dancing under the stars. Snacks are included with beer, wine & pop

History
Judge Samuel William Dexter built his home (1841-1843) west of the Village on an estate of 1700 acres on a rise of ground where a beautiful view of Dexter is seen. The home was named Gordon Hall in honor of his mother Catherine Gordon Dexter. Calvin Filmore, a carpenter and contractor brother of President Millard Filmore, was one of the designers of Gordon Hall.
In 1950, Gordon Hall was given to the University of Michigan by Katherine McCormick. In 1972, Gordon Hall was placed on the National Register of Historic Places. In 2006, Dexter Area Historical Society and Museum assumed ownership.
