Boys Cross Country: Dreads run fourth at SEC Jamboree 2 (see WLD photo gallery)

The Skyline boys’ cross country needed every step and sprint to edge Saline to the finish line in the SEC Jamboree 2 at Pioneer on Wednesday. The Eagles flew across the finish line with 41 points, just three points ahead of the Hornets. Pioneer was third with 76 points and Dexter finished fourth with 119 points. Huron crossed fifth with 131 points.

Skyline senior Nicolas Fry won a sprint to the finish line with a time of 16:02.9, just beating out Saline’s Samuel Jackson (16:03.2) and teammate Christopher Van Lent, who took third in 16:03.3. Juniors Luke Suliman (fifth, 16:09.6) and Mason Jett (seventh, 16:46.7) also cracked the top 10 for Skyline.

Dexter was led by senior Owen Ackerman (above) who finished 10th in 17:07.7. Senior Alex Hoffman was 20th (17:35.7) and junior Sam Gibson was 22nd (17:41.9) for Dexter.
