Three local programs sent their teams to the MHSAA Boys’ Cross Country State Finals on Saturday at a windy and overcast Michigan International Speedway in the final race of the 2022 season.
Northville finished first with 122 points, followed by Traverse City Central (196), Brighton (229) and Clarkston (265). The first local team across the finish line was Pioneer, who finished fifth with 270 points, just two behind Clarkston and 10 better than SEC rival Saline.
Skyline finished 21st with 418 points while Dexter ran 22nd with 433 points.

Grand Rapids Ottawa Hills senior Benne Anderson took first with a time of 15 minutes, 17.32 seconds. Skyline senior Nicolas Fry completed his outstanding high school career with an 11th place time of 15:51.70. Right behind Fry was Dexter junior Brandon Anderson who took 12th overall in 15:53.83.
