Girls Basketball: Dexter’s strong start too much for AA Huron

The Dexter girls’ basketball team had a couple slow starts in recent games but the Dreadnaughts made sure that didn’t happen Tuesday night against Ann Arbor Huron. Dexter came out firing – and scoring.

Five different Dreadnaughts knocked down triples in the first quarter as Dexter put up 24 points to take control against the River Rats. Dexter led 36-18 at halftime and cruised to a 53-38 win to improve to 3-2 overall on the young season.

Chloe Perry continued her strong start with a game-high 21 points. The talented senior scored in every quarter and had two three-pointers. Sophomore Alena Blumberg knocked down four triples, including two in that first quarter, and finished with 18 points.

Alyssa Gullekson had five points, including one of those first-quarter three-pointers, Kendall Cabana had four points and Addison Chase scored three points for Dexter.

The Dreadnaughts host Lincoln on Friday.
