Public invited to Student Art Show at WCC through April 15

ANN ARBOR  The public is invited to the 2023 Student Art Show hosted by Washtenaw Community College.

The show runs through April 15 and features 151 pieces of artwork in a wide variety of mediums.

Artwork is displayed on the second floor common area of the Student Center Building on Washtenaw’s campus, 4800 E. Huron River Drive. The public is also invited to an open house from 4:30-6 p.m. Thursday, April 6, to view the artwork and learn more about WCC art courses and programs in an informal setting.

Winners will be announced at 5 p.m.

Every piece in this year’s show was created in a WCC art course between Fall 2020 and Fall 2022.

Photos of each piece can also be viewed online in the virtual gallery at https://www.wccnet.edu/learn/departments/hlad/2023-student-art-show-gallery.php, where guests are invited to vote for a “People’s Choice” award through April 4.

This year’s exhibit will be adjudicated by Hoon Lee, an associate professor of ceramics at Grand Valley State University. Lee has a M.F.A. in Ceramic Art from the New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University.
