Farmers Market Opening Day

Opening Day for the 17th season of the Dexter Farmers Market is coming soon! Join us on Saturday, May 6, 2023 under the covered pavilion in historic downtown Dexter on Alpine St (next to the library). The Saturday Market is held May-October and the hours are 8am to 1pm. Ed Young will be providing musical entertainment between 10am and 12pm opening day.

This year, the Tuesday market will be held during June-September and the hours have changed to 11am-3pm. The opening day for the Tuesday market is June 6th, 11am-3pm.

Adult Plein Air Workshop

As part of this year’s Paint Dexter Plein Air Festival, we are excited to offer workshops with nationally known, award-winning artist Chris Leeper!

Chris teaches with a fun and relaxed style. Each day there will be a demonstration and lots of one-on-one instruction. This workshop will feature two mediums. One day will be watercolor and the other will be oil painting. Both mediums will be taught with a focus on a direct alla prima process of painting using a simple, shape to form process. Emphasis will be placed on sound design, dynamic value relationships and interesting color. A supply list will be provided for both mediums. At the end of each day, the class will reconvene to review and critique our efforts. Come prepared for outdoor painting–sunscreen, bug spray, water, etc.

The workshops will be held on Saturday and Sunday, August 12th & 13th, 2023 with watercolor being covered on Saturday and Oil being covered on Sunday.

Registrants are able to sign up for either one or both days.

To learn more and register to participate, please visit paintdexter.com/workshop-for-adults/ and click the registration button. Deposit is required to hold your space.
