No-cost Matter of Balance virtual workshop starts May 3

ANN ARBOR — Concerned about falls? Need a way to strengthen your balance? As we get older, we can improve our health with simple movements. One easy way is by joining the National Kidney Foundation of Michigan’s A Matter of Balance: Managing Concerns about Falls. This Zoom workshop helps older adults prevent falls and reduce the fear of falling. The workshop also helps participants safely increase their physical activity, learn strategies to prevent falls, and improve balance and flexibility.

The workshop includes step-by-step instruction, helpful for those who have not exercised before or in a long time. Extras include a workbook, snacks and water. The eight-week virtual workshop, which is open to any adult 65 and older, meets weekly over Zoom. The class requires a computer or other device with internet access and a camera. A meeting link will be sent to registered participants. There is no cost to participate but donations are always welcome.
