Baseball: Skyline falls to SEC rival Saline 3-0

The Skyline baseball team fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 3-0 loss to Saline on Wednesday. It was Saline’s third win in two days over the Eagles – Saline swept a doubleheader (4-0, 15-3) on Tuesday at Saline.

On Wednesday, the Hornets took the lead on a single in the second inning.

The pitching was strong on both sides. Saline pitchers struck out five, while Skyline sat down eight. Skyline’s Andrew Walworth lasted four and a third innings, allowing five hits and two runs while striking out five. Landry Jobe threw two and two-thirds innings in relief out of the bullpen and allowed just one hit and one run.

Ryan Gensheimer, Eli Bishar, Donovan Hill, Lewis McCammon, and Caleb Raymond each managed one hit to lead Skyline Varsity Eagles.

The Eagles host Garden City on Friday.
