The Guild of Artists & Artisans with Gutman Gallery Announce Every Body

ANN ARBOR – The Guild of Artists & Artisans (The Guild) announces its latest exhibition, Every body, an all media exhibition in Gutman Gallery that is themed around figurative artwork and body diversity.. The exhibition, on display June 2nd through July 1st, features work from 27 talented artists and highlights a wide range of styles. Throughout the exhibition, the gallery will be open to the public Wednesday through Saturday from 11a-5p.

The community is invited to help kick off Every Body with an open house style reception on Friday, June 2nd from 4p-6p. Stop by the gallery to experience the show firsthand, meet some of the artists, and enjoy light refreshments from Peace, Love and Little Donuts and Avalon Cafe and Kitchen, as well as enjoy live music from Daniel Dinay. Follow along on our Facebook event page for reception details, exhibition updates, and artwork highlights.

Every Body was juried by guest juror, artist Nora Venturelli. Nora is currently a Lecturer II at the University of Michigan Stamps School of Art & Design where she teaches drawing and painting. She is actively showing her work locally and internationally, and can be found in numerous private and public collections. She is represented by the WSG Gallery in Ann Arbor, MI.

The exhibition features 35 works from 27 talented artists, all representing a variety of styles, techniques, and media. Among these works, the show includes two sculptures by return artist Pamela Day, Special Relationship and Lily. The exhibition also includes new artists to the Gutman Gallery such as a digital art piece from local art student Shalin Berman. Berman’s piece Drag Deck is a Standard 52-card deck that celebrates the art of drag and honors some of the many drag artists and performers who inspire them.

Throughout the duration of the exhibition, Artist Pop-Ups will continue on Saturdays in Gutman Gallery. Art-lovers are invited to visit the gallery on Saturdays to meet the artists behind the work and shop a wider variety of their art. Different gallery artists will be setting up shop each Saturday from 11a-5p. Follow along on Facebook and Instagram, where we will announce the line-up each week!
