Cross Country: Dexter girls run third, boys sixth at Milford Invitational

The Dexter girls’ cross country team crossed the finish line in third place at the 16-team Milford Invitational on Thursday. The Dreadnaughts finished with 150 points in the race. Davison took first with 119 points followed by Rochester (124).

Dexter’s Alena Blumberg led the way for the Dreadnaughts. The junior finished in 10th place in 20.43.3. Annabel O’Haver also had a strong race for the Dreads. The junior ran 18th overall in 21:29.6.

Sophomore Hannah Bougher was 35th (21:58.0), junior Addison Bruckman was 42nd (21:58.0), senior Kate Varitek ran 45th (22:21.9), junior Olivia Shaieb was 52nd (22:47.7), and senior Ella Mitchell ran 58th (23:00.0). A pair of freshmen – Abigail Dobry (61st, 23:01.2) and Kodie Snyder (64th, 23:02.7) – were next up for Dexter. Junior Addison Streetman was 65th (23:05.0), junior Hannah Sisson was 72nd (23:15.7), freshman Jillian Lower was 88th (23:57.4), and senior Anna Smith was 92nd (24:04.2).

The Dexter boys finished in sixth place with 200 points. Clarkston ran first with 81 points followed by Livonia Churchill (95) and Oxford (113).

Senior Brandon Anderson led Dexter with a seventh-place finish time of 16:48.7. Junior Caleb Snyder ran to a 36th place finish in 18:07.9, junior Elijah Smith was 41st in 18:16.0 and senior Andrew Gafford was 52nd in 18:29.0.

Sophomore Cole Doty ran 65th in 18:42.0, senior Jack McCalla was 73rd 18:50.9, junior Landon Whitehead was 90th in 19:20.0, and senior Will Kletzka was 91st in 19:20.7.
