Dexter Around Town: Farmer’s Market, Summer Taxes, Gordon Hall Days

Farmers Market
September 9th (Saturday)

We have two musical performances this Saturday!

  • 9:30 to 11:15am – Full Circles playing a variety of styles including Old Country, Jazz Standards, & Fiddle Tunes.
  • 11:30am to 1:00pm – Special performance by the Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra – String Quartet. The AASO will also have a few coloring activities for kids and free concert vouchers to SNAP recipients that will be distributed.

Also this Saturday, from 8:00am to 10:00am, there will be a registration event for the Senior Market Bucks coupons. To be eligible for Senior Market Bucks, you must be a Washtenaw County resident AND 60 years of age or older. (Note no income requirement). $10 in coupons can be used on Michigan-grown foods. The last day to use the coupons is October 31, 2023.
September 16th (Saturday)

Starting at 10:00am, join Bob-a-loo, an outdoor movement-based learning program where children build heart & body strength while learning how good it feels to eat healthy as we explore the Farmers Market. Each family of a registered child will receive an $8.00 gift card to use at the Farmers Market on the day of the event.

September 19th (Tuesday)

From 11:00am to 12:30pm, enjoy another performance by the Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra – Brass Quintet. The AASO will also have a few coloring activities for kids and free concert vouchers to SNAP recipients that will be distributed.

Summer Taxes Due


Property taxes are due on September 15, 2023. Payments must be received at the City Office by 5:00pm.

To ensure receipt by September 15, 2023 at 5 pm, payments can be dropped off to City Hall, 3515 Broad St. on weekdays between 9 am and 5 pm, or placed into the drop box located in front of City Hall. If you have not mailed your payment yet, we strongly suggest dropping it off due to the time it can take for the mail to be processed and delivered by the post office. After the deadline, a 1% per month penalty is applied. Tax information can be found at – https://bsaonline.com/?uid=386&sitetransition=true.

Gordon Hall Days

The Dexter Historical Society will be hosting their annual Gordon Hall Days this Saturday, September 9th, and Sunday, September 10th, from 10:00am to 4:00pm at Gordon Hall at 8311 Island Lake Road. Entry into the event is $5/person or $20/car load.

Families are invited to enjoy live animals, antique and flea markets, crafts and demonstrations, and children’s activities. The Ann Arbor Model Railroad Club’s will also have their fascinating model train on display.    

Your ticket includes a tour of the historic home of Dexter’s founder, Judge Samuel W. Dexter, as well as the newly renovated milk house (the only surviving original outbuilding on the property).

Food and refreshments will be available. All proceeds go to support the Dexter Area Historical Society.
