Swimming & Diving: Dexter goes 1-2 against tough competition on Saturday

The Dexter Women’s Swim and Dive team hosted some tough competition Saturday at the Wylie Pool. The Dreadnaughts were taken down by Midland Dow 102-80 and Farmington Hills Mercy 134.50-50.50. Dexter prevailed over Fenton 97-79 to finish 1-2 on the day.

The 200 Medley Relay of Harper Brown, Delaney Parker, Isabel Martinez, and Kayce McCallister splashed their way to a third-place finish behind Dow and Mercy. Parker tied for third in the 200 IM.

McCallister locked up a second-place finish in the 50 Free and was third in the 100 Free while teammate Emma Bishop was fourth in the 100 Free. Rebekah Murillo touched the wall fifth in the 500 Free.

In the 200 Free Relay, the team of McCallister, Parker, Bishop, and Brown finished second and earned a state cut time, and the team of Grace McClellan, Addy Arbour, Taylor Onsted, and Sydney Collins were fourth.

Brown nabbed third in the 100 Breaststroke, and Dexter’s 400 Free Relay team of Bishop, Martinez, McClellan, and Diem Lee finished fifth.

Dexter will host Bedford at 6 p.m., on Thursday at the Wylie Pool.
