Swimming: Pioneer races past Monroe in SEC dual-meet

The Pioneer girls’ swimming and diving team raced past Monroe 152-30 in an SEC dual-meet on Thursday at Pioneer HS. Pioneer won all three relays and every individual race in the victory.

The Pioneer team of Stella Chapman, Alexandra Hannah, Meg Pinkerton and Kate Van Ryn opened the meet with a time of 1:51.4 to win the medley relay.

Jayla Kuzak won the 200 free in 1:57.06 with Amani Sanogo second (2:01.22) and Cecilia Cook third (2:01.67).

Ursula Ott won the IM in 2:11.55 with Rachel Brewbaker second (2:24.54) and Hannah third (2:27.46).

In the 50 free, Chapman took first in 24.08 with Reese Heidenreich second (25.36) and Allison Yadmark third (26.87).

Grace Daly took first in diving with 216.6 points. Arianna Pagel was second (202.2 points) and Lisa Pando Rasia was third (198.9).

Van Run won the butterfly in 58.25 followed by Ott (1:01.57) and Pinkerton (1:03.61).

In the 100 free, Sanogo won with a time of 55.99 followed by Bridgette Kamara (57.2) and Aubrey Baumhover (1:01.71).

Kuzak won the 500 free with a time of 5:06.63. Harper Feyen was second (5:21.91) and Cook third (5:32.94).

The Pioneer team of Van Run, Yadmark, Sanogo and Cook won the 200 free relay in 1:43.86.

In the backstroke, Chapman won with a time of 55.52. Kamara was second (1:01.56) and Brewbaker third (1:03.85).

Heidenreich won the breaststroke in 1:08.58 followed by Hannah (1:16.2) and Sophia Smith (1:20.84).

The Pioneer team of Ott, Sanogo, Van Ryn and Heidenreich won the 400 free relay in 3:40.98.
