Skyline Equestrian wins Districts, heads to Regionals Sept. 29

The Skyline Equestrian Team, lead by Coach Julie Fleming, took home the District Trophy on Sunday September 17th at the Wayne County Fairgrounds. The Team will compete at Regionals September 29th-October 1st at The Shiawassee County Fairgrounds in Corunna.

Senior and 4 year Varsity Rider Izzy Sluymers-Tuccinardi ended the regular season with 87 points.  Izzy placed in Hunt Seat Bareback, Hunt Seat Over Fences, Flags, Cloverleaf, Poles and Two-Man Relay.

Freshman Audra Ambrozaitis had an impressive start to her Varsity Career earning 74 points. Audra placed in Western and Hunt Seat Fitting and Showing, Western Riding and Reining, Flags, Cloverleaf, Poles and Two-Man Relay.

Senior and 4 year Varsity Rider Clarke Fields earned 65 points across the 3 meets.  Clarke placed in Western, Hunt Seat and Saddle Seat Fitting and Showing as well as Saddle Seat Equitation and Hunt Seat Equitation and Hunt Seat Bareback and Two-Man Relay.

Freshman Siofra Poppens earned 54 points across the 3 meets.  She excelled in Equitation Over Fences, Hunt Seat Equitation and Hunt Seat Bareback.  She also placed very well in Cloverleaf, Poles and Two-Man Relay.

Senior and First Year Varsity Rider Leah Eddins earned 34 points across 3 meets and placed well in Western Fitting and Showing, Western Riding, Western Bareback and Reining with Western Riding.

Senior and 3 year varsity participant (1 year Groom 2 year Rider)Emma Zamansky had a stellar first meet earning 29 points.  Emma placed in Western Fitting and Showing, Saddle seat Fitting and Showing, Saddle Seat Pattern, Saddle Seat Equitation, Hunt Seat Equitation and Two-Man relay.  Emma had to rest her horse due to injury in Meets 2 and 3.

Freshman Sydney Aldrich earned 41 points across 2 Meets and dominated in Hunt Seat Equitation and Equitation Over Fences and also placed in Cloverleaf.  Sydney rested her horse in Meet 3.

We want to Congratulate our 4 senior riders, Izzy, Clarke, Emma and Leah and with such a strong Freshman showing from Audra, Siofra and Sydney the future of Skyline Equestrian is very bright!!
