Girls Cross Country: Pioneer first at SEC Jamboree 2 – Dexter third 

Saline hosted the second SEC Jamboree on Wednesday and the results were very similar to the race held earlier in the month at Bedford. Pioneer’s Rachel Forsyth again won by more than 2 minutes and Pioneer took three of the top five spots to run first overall with 27 points. They finished with 24 points at the SEC Jamboree 1 in Bedford.

Saline was second with 49 points, followed by Dexter (98), Skyline (102), Huron (125), Bedford (160) and Monroe (170).

Forsyth, a senior, ran first in 16 minutes, 18.4 seconds. Pioneer senior Lydia Bowman was second (18:16.1) to give the Pioneers an impressive one-two run at the top of the lineup. Senior Natalie Mello was fifth (18:39.8) for Pioneer.

Sophomore Quincy Behm was 18th in the first race and moved up to ninth (18:59.3) at Saline. Senior Sylvia Sank Dufallo ran 10th (19:00.4) and senior Katie Hume was 11th (19:00.5). Freshman Frances Brown was 17th (19:20.8), sophomore Hana Boggess was 18th (19.22.0), freshman Nina Moore was 22nd (19:30.5) and freshman Lucinda Gubbini was 26th (19:38.8).

Dexter junior Alena Blumberg led the Dreadnaughts across the finish line with a seventh-place time of 18:42.4. Junior Addison Bruckman was 19th in 19:23.0, freshman Kodie Snyder was 21st (19:29.7), senior Ella Mitchell was 31st (20:31.2), sophomore Amelia Cribbins was 32nd (20:33.3),  junior Olivia Shaieb was 34th (20:40.5), sophomore Avery Holt was 36th (20:45.2), sophomore Hannah Bougher was 38th (20:54.6), junior Hannah Sisson was 39th (21:09.3) and senior Kate Varitek was 40th (21:12.0).  

Skyline senior Allison Mayer finished fourth overall with a time of 18:37.5 for the Eagles. A pair of freshmen also had solid runs for the Eagles – Irie Scrase was 15th (19:16.0) and Becca vanLent was 16th (19:16.0). Senior Alexandria Mason was 41st in 21:16.6, senior Alysia Townsend was 44th (21:55.5), sophomore Grace Hopkins was 51st (22:32.4) and senior Aileen Bachrens was 52nd in 22:46.3.

The River Rats were led by junior Lucinda Paliani who placed 12th in 19:07.3. Sophomore Leena Shelgikar was 23rd (19:31.3), senior Sonya Shelgikar ran 27th (19:40.4), senior Sarah Conley (33rd, 20:37.2), junior Sala Montohara was 49th (22:19.5), sophomore Tanishka Tewari was 53rd (23.16.8), sophomore Nishka Kalantry was 57th (24:02.7) and Julieta Turon was 62nd (25:16.5).
