Critters and butterflies, ghosts and goblins, superheroes and their sidekicks are invited to downtown Ann Arbor for our 2nd annual Downtown Trick-or-Treating & Costume Parade on Sunday, October 29. Over 30 businesses will be ready to hand out treats and maybe a few tricks to costumed characters. Participating businesses will fly black and orange balloons at their entrances.
11:45 a.m. Costumed kids gather at Main and William for the Trick-or-Treater Parade down Main Street led by the Ann Arbor District Library. Parents are welcome to walk with their kids.
Noon – 2:30 p.m. Downtown Trick-or-Treating!! Main Street Area businesses invite all costumed characters to trick-or-treat.  Look for black and orange balloons in store fronts to see who’s participating!
Make sure to stop by
  • Ann Arbor District Library for their costume contest
  • Literati Bookstore for a spooky kid’s book display, spooky photo-op, Adult & Children’s Costume Contest!
  • A2AC Gallery for a coloring contest! The winner will get a “Young Artist Box” filled with fun artmaking supplies (winner announced & contacted 10/31. They have 1 week to pick up their prize from the A2AC Shop at 117 W. Liberty St)

“Downtown Trick-or-Treating brings joy to the neighborhood,” said Sandra Andrade, Executive Director, Main Street Area Association. “The business community enjoys this event almost as much as the children. I highly recommend making your way downtown between Noon and 2:30 p.m. on October 29 whether or not you have kids in tow, it’s a lot of fun and worth the trip!”
All activities are free and open to the public. For a trick-or-treating map and list of other fun happenings for Halloween visit mainstreetannarbor.org.
