City of Ann Arbor Update: Ann Arbor Shares Information on Bike Parking Pilot

The City of Ann Arbor and the Ann Arbor Downtown Development Authority (DDA) are working in tandem on a pilot program to add more bicycle parking within the public right-of-way around Ann Arbor, as framed in the city’s Vision Zero transportation plan. This program builds on the DDA’s existing seasonal on-street bike rack program that repurposes on-street parking spaces during warm-weather months.

The pilot will include new materials and maintenance partnerships to support year-round use.

The initial push will seek interest from businesses who wish to have bike parking facilities near their location. The request application can be found at the city’s online system, Stream. Interested businesses, non-profits,  property owners or other organizations are encouraged to visit Stream at https://stream.a2gov.org/EnerGov_Prod/selfservice/AnnArborMIProd#/home, select “apply,” then search for the “Business Bike Parking Pilot Permit Program” to submit their request. Applicants will first need to register in Stream before filling out the form.
