The Pioneer girls’ swimming and diving team kept its winning streak alive and remained on course for another Division 1 state title with an easy 126.5-59.5 win over Saline in an SEC dual-meet last week.
The Pioneers blasted out of the gate with a 1-2 finish in the opening medley relay. The team of Rachel Brewbaker, Ursula Ott, Jayla Kuzak and Meg Pinkerton touched first in 1:49.99. The team of Bridgette Kamara, Yan Yee Adler, Kate Van Ryn and Amani Sanogo was second in 1:50.18.
Harper Feyen was second in the 200 free in 1:59.41 with Cecilia Cook third in 2:00.05.
In the 200 IM, the Pioneers were led by Stella Chapman (first, 2:00.01), Ott (second, 2:12.03) and Kamara (third, 2:13.0).
Jayla Kuzak sprinted to a first-place finish with a time of 25.17 seconds in the 50 free. Aubrey Baumhover was third in 25.68.
Grace Daly splashed third in diving with 221.85 points. Arianna Pagel was fourth with 198.15 points.
Van Ryn won the butterfly in 59.16 with Reese Heidenreich third (1:00. 86.).
The Pioneers went one-two in the 100 free with Kuzak (53.66) and Ott (54.00).
Adler went the distance in the 500 free with her winning time of 5:06.73.
In the 200 free relay, the team of Chapman, Cook, Pinkerton and Van Ryn won with a time of 1:38.05.
Pioneer went one-two in the backstroke with Kamara (59.18) and Brewbaker (1:00.79). They also went one-two in the breaststroke with Chapman (1:02.71) and Adler (1:06.66).
The Pioneer team of Sanogo, Kuzak, Van Ryn and Heidenreich took first in the 400 free relay in 3:35.74. The team of Pinkerton, Ott, Chapman and Yan Yee was second in 3:40.64.
