Girls Basketball: Dreadnaughts fall to South Lyon East in first setback of the year

Anna Lassan scored eight of her game-high 23 points in the fourth quarter – including 6-6 from the free-throw line – to help lead South Lyon East to a 40-29 win over Dexter in a non-league girls’ basketball game on Tuesday night. It was the Dreadnaughts’ first loss of the season.

Lassan, who in October signed to play Division 1 college basketball at U-D Mercy next season, scored 11 points in the fourth quarter to help give South Lyon East a 21-9 lead. The visitors led 6-4 in a low scoring first quarter.

South Lyon East led 28-19 after three quarters.

Dexter’s Alena Blumberg made two three-pointers and finished with a team high 12 points. Addison Chase and Alyssa Gullekson each had six points for the Dreadnaughts.

Dexter falls to 4-1 on the season.
