Girls Basketball: Blumberg’s 25 points help lead Dreadnaughts

Alena Blumberg scored 25 points to help lead the Dexter girls’ basketball team to a 50-39 win Tuesday over Monroe in an SEC game.

Blumberg, a junior, scored eight points in the first quarter to help Dexter take a 12-10 early lead. Dexter led 23-17 at halftime and 35-27 after three quarters. The Dreads outscored the Trojans 15-12 in the final quarter.

Blumberg scored 17 of her 25 points in the second half including seven points from the free-throw line.

Addison Chase and Harper Backus each scored six and Allyssa Gullekson scored five for the Dreads.
