AAPS/Chartwells partners with Argus Farm Stop—our newest vendor of locally-grown produce

Argus Farm Stop, a consignment grocery store with two brick-and-mortar buildings in Ann Arbor, is AAPS/Chartwells’ latest vendor of locally grown fresh produce.

Mike DeVries, Food Service Director for AAPS, says he is excited to work with Argus Farm Stop this year to bring locally grown food into the cafeterias.

“One of my favorite things about living in Ann Arbor is having access to the Farmers Market and the wonderful produce that we have available to us here,” he says. “And it’s it’s just great to be able to bring that into the schools. i think it’s really important to connect people with food that’s grown in their area, one, for a sustainability aspect, but two, just to support our local economy and the farmers that are out here doing this work every year.”

Argus Farm Stop works with about 60 vegetable farmers and another 20 meat producers as well as dozens of artists and entrepreneurs who work on consignment.
