Swimming & Diving: Pioneer makes quick work of Lincoln in dual-meet

The Pioneer girls swimming and diving team made quick work of Lincoln in an SEC dual-meet on Sept. 19 as the Pioneers won 153-30. Pioneer won all three relays and took first place in every event.

The Pioneer team of Katelyn Van Ryn, Jayla Kuzak, Suryn Lee and Ursula Ott won the medley relay in 1:51.99.

Kuzak jumped back in the pool and won the 200 free in 1:54.85. Cecilia Walusek was second in 1:55.89.

Cecilia Cook won the 200 IM in 2:14.99 with Yan Ling Adler in second in 2:19.94. Van Ryn won the 50 free in 24.08 with Ott in second in 24.46.

In a very close finish in diving, Grace Daly took first with 243.55 points with teammate Arianna Pagel second with 242.55 points. Yeah, close. Lisa Pando Rasia also had a good day with 206.95 points.

Cook won again, this time in the butterfly going 1:00.28 with Lee taking second in 1:01.49. Meg Pinkerton won the 100 free in 55.90 with Bridgette Kamara in second in 57.33. Walusek won the 500 free in 5;11.80 with Van Ryn in second in 5:19.82.

The Pioneer team of Cook, Tallulah Beg, Ashley Hockley and Walusek won the 200 free relay in 1:42.94.

Beg took first in the backstroke in 1:00.78 with Karma taking second in 1:04.09. In the breaststroke, Ott took first in 1:04.25 with Jayla Kuzak in second in 1:09.12.

The Pioneer team of Walusek, Van Ryn, Kuzak and Ott took first in the 400 free relay with a time of 3:39.26.
