Swimming & Diving: Eagles fly past Monroe, Huron in SEC dual-meets 

The Skyline swimming and diving team swam past Monroe last week in an SEC dual-meet 130-40.

Senior Sofia Torres won both the 100 Free and the 200 Free, while freshman Sadie Jordan got her first varsity win in the 50 freestyle. Sophomore Adrienne Schadler came away with victories in both the 100 Fly and the 100 Back, and freshman Caroline Campbell took the victory in the 500 free – her first varsity win.

Junior Annabelle Balazer led the way in the 100 breastroke and sophomore Lenci Oleksinski took top honors in the 200 IM.

The Eagles hosted the Huron River Rats at the Bird Bath for a dual meet on Sept. 19 and came away with a 124-62 win over the Rats. Skyline set the tone early, with the team of Britta Coultas, Julianna Peoples, Lynn Giulia, and Anika Vaitkevicius winning the 200 Medley Relay. Annabelle Balazer followed up with a victory in the 200 Free and Junior Evi Edlund took third.

Julianna Peoples hopped back in for the 200 IM, taking 2nd, and Adrienne Schadler and Britta Coultas went 1-2 in the 50 Freestyle. Divers Sylvia Bierman and Teagan McCallion led the way in the 1 meter diving event, finishing 1-2.

Freshman Lisa Venturini got her first varsity victory in the 100 Fly. Guilia Lynn took 2nd and A. Balazer was 3rd. Lenci Oleksinski took the 100 free followed by Anika Vaitkevicius 2nd and freshman Sadie Jordan 3rd.

Sofia Torres and Britta Coultas finished 1-2 in the 500 free and Adrienne Schadler captured the 100 back.
