Girls Basketball: Dexter bounces Birmingham Seaholm, hosts Saline on Friday

Six different Dreadnaughts scored four or more points as the Dexter girls’ basketball team shared the ball and played strong defense in a 42-33 win Tuesday night over visiting Birmingham Seaholm in a non-conference game.

Dexter led throughout the game taking a 12-6 lead after the first quarter and 24-17 at halftime. Seaholm pulled to within two points (29-27) heading into the fourth quarter but the Dreads went on a 13-6 run in the final period to seal the win.

The Blumberg sisters led the Dreadnaughts. Both Alena, a senior, and Layla, a freshman, each scored nine points. Lizzy Lewis scored five of her seven points in the fourth quarter. Addison Wylie had six points, Addison Chase scored five and Kendall Cabana had four for the Dreadnaughts.

Dexter hosts Saline on Friday in an SEC showdown.
