AAPS Board of Education swears in new trustees, elects officers

The Ann Arbor Public Schools Board of Education re-elected Torchio Feaster to serve as their president at their Organizational Meeting on January 29, 2025. The other leadership positions have changed with the new board. Susan Schmidt was voted in as vice president. Glynda Wilks was selected to serve as the board secretary and Don Wilkerson was chosen for the role of Treasurer.

The election of board officers occurred after Wilks, Wilkerson and Leslie Wilkins were sworn in as new trustees. Feaster also took the oath of office to serve the remainder of the term he was appointed to in 2023.

Wilkins was chosen to serve the board as parliamentarian. Board Committee assignments will be made at a meeting in February.

Secretary Glynda Wilks, Treasurer Don Wilkerson, Vice President Susan Schmidt, and President Torchio Feaster are the Ann Arbor Public Schools Board of Education’s new leadership team.
