Dexter Women’s Water Polo Opens Season with Competitive Weekend

Despite having just a handful of practices together, the Dexter women’s water polo team hit the water for their first away game against Troy, followed by four games at the Pioneer Early Bird Tournament.

With only six returning players and ten newcomers, our primary focus was to give our new teammates valuable game-time experience—one of the best ways to learn the game at a competitive level.

Key highlights from the weekend included returning players stepping up into their new roles as starters and leaders. One standout performance came from senior captain Emma Bishop, who played every minute of all five games. Her impressive statistics for the weekend included:

•    12 goals
•    2 assists
•    3 steals
•    1 field block
•    17 sprints won

The team showed tremendous growth and resilience, and we’re excited to build on this momentum as the season progresses.
