Boys Basketball: Red-hot Dreadnaughts dunk Pinckney

Let down?

No way – not with this basketball team.

The Dexter boys’ team followed up its impressive win over state-ranked Ypsilanti on Tuesday with a convincing 69-55 victory over Pinckney Friday in an SEC White Division game. The Dreadnaughts have now won six straight after dropping their first three of the season.

Both teams had the offense rolling early, as Dexter led 19-16 after the opening quarter. The Dreadnaughts extended the lead to 33-29 at halftime.

The Pirates held tough in the second half, trailing just 44-41 after three quarters. But Dexter outscored Pinckney 25-14 in the final period to win going away.

Senior Brady Rosen helped put the game away in the fourth quarter. The forward scored 11 of his team-high 22 points in the final quarter. Senior Drew Bishop scored six of his 11 points in the crucial fourth quarter.

Caden Doll helped get the Dreads off to a fast start, scoring all of his eight points in the first quarter. Sophomore Marco Lucchesi had five points in the first quarter and four in the fourth for nine points. Zach Condron had six points in the win.

The Dreads face a big test on Tuesday when they head to Saline to a face a solid SEC Red Division club. Dexter hosts Strockbridge on Friday.
