DCP debuts Youth Productions Theatre with “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland”

The Dexter Community Players recently created a new Youth Theatre Productions which will create opportunities for youngsters looking for experience on stage and will help foster the next generation of local actors, musicians and artists.

“The focus of this late season addition is to give more opportunities to young people who just want to perform,” says Abby Briggs, DCP president.

The first production will be “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland,” adapted by Tim Kelly, and directed by the DCP’s very own board member Samantha Kempf who is a para-educator with Dexter Schools.

“Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland” is a new take on the timeless tale where you will follow the rabbit into a delightful, entertaining world of childhood fantasies! Alice journeys to a world of talking animals, comic royalty, and races where the contestants run in circles.

There is also the Mad Hatter’s frantic tea party, the watch-carrying White Rabbit, and talking flowers. Along the way, Alice must deal with a sneezing Duchess and a baby that turns into a pig. The finale has Alice watching a trial, but she suddenly finds herself the accused! The play gives a modern view to an old classic, where nonsense makes quite good sense.

Show Dates/Times:
Friday, Feb. 9th at 6:30pm
Saturday, Feb. 10th at 2:30pm & 6:30pm
Sunday, Feb. 11th at 2:30pm
