Volunteer Opportunities in Area State Parks

It’s great way to get outside, enjoy our state land, learn a bit about our land and conservation, and a great way to give back.

Want to get your hands dirty while helping to take care of and restore natural ecosystems at some of Michigan’s state parks? Michigan’s natural areas are under threat from invasive species. You can help protect our land and water resources.

When invasives take hold, they change native ecosystems. Invasive species are difficult, sometimes even impossible to eradicate. Once invasive species become established, the work to remove them and restore natural systems is costly and time consuming. Preventing the spread of invasive species is the easiest solution to the problem. You can make a difference.

By volunteering to collect native seeds, remove invasive species, conduct plant and animal surveys and more, you can do just that. A handful of opportunities will be taking place in May throughout southeast and southwest Michigan.
