The Dexter swimming and diving team celebrated Dexter-Chelsea week with an easy dual-meet victory over the rival Bulldogs. The Dreadnaughts won the opening relay and never looked back in an easy 120-61 win over host Chelsea on Thursday in an SEC White Division contest.
Dexter’s foursome of Niklas Eberly, Tanner Sharp, Casey Dolen and Michael Baumann won the medley relay in 1 minute, 39.79 seconds.
Dexter went one-two in the 200 free with a pair of sophomores: Zach Norris was first in 1:55.51 and Sam Sterlitz second in 2:00.09.
Paul Schaefer won the 200 IM in 2:13.28 and Nathan Norris was third in 2:20.71.
Baumann won the 50 free in 22.84. Luke Sayler was third (24.31) and Leo Varitek was fourth (25.47) for Dexter.
Freshman Cole Warren won diving with 188.20 points with teammate Yaw Oduro in second with 166.15 points.
Dolen won the butterfly in 55.05 with Norris in second in 1;03.55.
Sharp took second in the 100 free with a time of 50.17.
The Dreadnaughts dominated the 500 free. Eberly took first with a time of 4:49.27 with Sam Sterlitz in second (5:26.85), Jack Blodgett third (5:28.86) and Joe Sharon fourth (6:11.40) for Dexter.
The 200 free relay team of Sayler, Norris, Varitek and Eberly finished first in 1:35.78.
Dexter went one-two-three in the backstroke with Sharp first (58.96), Baumann second (1:03.69) and Schaefer third (1:06.17).
Dolen was second in the breaststroke in 1:04.38. Ben Duncan took third (1:12.74).
The Dexter 400 free relay team of Blodgett, Norris, Sterlitz and Schaefer took second in 3:45.02.
