Swimming: Dexter takes a pair in double-dual with Pinckney, Lincoln

The Dexter boys’ swimming and diving team made quick work of visiting Pinckney and Lincoln in an SEC double-dual meet on Tuesday. The Dreadnaughts dunked Pinckney 125-61 and topped Lincoln 118-68.

The Dreads opened with a convincing win in the opening medley relay. The team of Casey Dolen, Tanner Sharp, Clayton Kinnard and Michael Baumann won in 1:44.27 over a Lincoln team that went 1:51.81.

Senior Niklas Eberly won the 200 free in 1:44.19. Paul Schaefer was third for Dexter in 1:53.97.

The Dreads took the top two spots in the 200 IM. Dolen, a senior, touched first in 2:02.38. Sharp was second in 2:05.18.

A pair of sophomores went two-three in the 50 free. Kinnard was second (24.25) and Zach Norris third (24.49) behind winner Pinckney’s Alex Beckwith (23.82).
Freshman Cole Warren won the diving with 226.80 points. Teammate Yaw Oduro was third with 184.75 points.

Kinnard won the 100 butterfly with a time of 58.20. Sharp took third in 59.35 and Leo Veritek, another sophomore, was fourth (1:01.64).

The Dreads went two-three-four in the 100 free with Schaefer (53.24), Sam Sterlitz (55.62) and Nathan Norris (55.76).

Dolen went the distance to win the 500 free with a time of 4:57.88. Michael Baumann was third (5:07.84) and Luke Sayler was fourth (5:27.24).

The Dreads’ foursome of Eberly, Nathan Norris, Kinnard and Baumann won the 200 free relay with a time of 1:34.55.

Dexter took the top two spots in the backstroke. Eberly was first in 56.71 and Norris touched second in 57.82.

Jack Blodgett was second (1:11.18) and Adam Hauser third (1:14.23) in the breaststroke for the Dreadnaughts.

The Dreads wrapped up the meet in style – going one-two in the 400 free relay. The team of Sharp, Baumann, Dolen and Eberly was first in 3:25.41. The team of Norris, Schaefer, Sayler and Zach Norris was second in 3:37.57.
