Track & Field: Dreadnaughts heading to Regionals on Friday (May 17) at Saline

It’s one of the biggest high school sporting events of the year – the Michigan High School Track and Field Regionals. One of the most exciting and talented fields this year is once again in Saline as Pioneer, Skyline, Huron and Dexter will compete against some talented programs for a chance to advance to the state finals.

No teams qualify to the state meet, only individuals and relay teams. The top two finishers in each event (individual and relays) qualify for the state meet. In addition, any individual or relay hitting the state qualifying standard at the Regional meet also qualify.

There will be a lot going on throughout the day.

The boys’ pole vault starts at noon. The following events begin at 1 p.m.: Boys long jump and discus; girls shot put and high jump.

The following events start after the events at 1 p.m. conclude: Girls pole vault, long jump and discus and boys shot put and high jump.

The girls and boys 4×800 relay starts at 2 p.m.  The prelims for the 100, 100/110 hurdles and 200 start at 3 p.m.  The finals of all running events start at 5 p.m.

The meet will be over at approximately 8 p.m.
