Commission Openings

The Election Commission is seeking one new member. The Election Commission meets at least twice before each Election held in the City of Dexter to: 1) appoint Election Inspectors to work at precincts on Election Day, and 2) test Election Equipment for the public accuracy test. The new member must be a City resident. The position has a two year term.

The Economic Development Corporation is seeking one new member. The Economic Development Corporation is a 9 member board organized under state law to assist the City in attracting and retaining businesses in order to strengthen and revitalize the local economy. The EDC meets on an as needed basis, typically once per year. The new member must be a City resident or be an owner or employee of a City business. The position has a six year term.

Hawker/Peddler Permit

A hawker/peddler permit has been issued to EverDry Waterproofing to go door to door in the City. The permit is valid on Friday, January 10, 2020 from 10 am to 6 pm.
Paint Dexter Plein Air Festival Event Planner

The City of Dexter is seeking an energetic, highly organized, and self-motivated Paint Dexter Plein Air Festival Event Coordinator. Paint Dexter is an art competition, gallery, sale, and community Festival that takes place in August of each year. In 2020 the Festival will enter its 8th year and will be held the week of August 17 – 22. The Event Coordinator is a paid part-time position, and will work approximately 400 hours per calendar year at $14 per hour. The Event Coordinator will be responsible for the planning and implementation of the Festival, beginning in February. A first review of applications will take place on Friday, February 7th at 2:00 pm.
