Competitive Cheer: Dreadnaughts place second at SEC tournament (WLD photo gallery)

The Dexter varsity competitive cheer team welcomed other SEC teams to town on Thursday for a highly competitive, exciting and enthusiastic tournament before a big and receptive crowd.

The Dreadnaughts cheered their way to a second-place finish in the varsity event that featured six teams. Dexter scored 193.5 points in the first round, 187.28 points in round two and closed with 260.2 points for a total of 630.98 points.

Tecumseh finished first overall with 672.94 points.

Lincoln finished third with 560.54 points followed by Chelsea (536.5), Adrian (509.2) and Pinckney (349.64).
