Girls Basketball: Dreadnaughts race past Skyline in SEC Red matchup

Sydney Pnacek had 22 points and Maddi Valentine scored 13 as the Dexter girls’ basketball routed host Ann Arbor Skyline 66-24 on Friday night in an SEC Red matchup.

It was a big week for Pnacek. The senior had 18 points in Tuesday’s win over Saline. On Friday, she knocked down four triples and made 9 of 21 shots from the floor. She also had three rebounds and two blocks.

Valentine had a game-high 12 rebounds to go with her 13 points. She made 6 of 14 shots and had two blocks and two steals.

Brianna Rodriguez also had a big game for Dexter. She finished with eight points, six rebounds and a team-best eight assists along with four steals.

Chloe Perry and Alena Blumberg (four rebounds) each scored six points. Berta Sanjuan had five points and three rebounds and Maggie Lewis had four points and five rebounds in the win.

The Dreadnaughts led 15-2 after the first quarter and took a 36-4 lead into halftime. They outscored the Eagles 14-11 in the third and 16-9 in the fourth.

Dexter hosts Pioneer on Tuesday.
