Washtenaw County’s Annual “Stuff the Bus” Campaign Kicks off on Aug. 1

ANN ARBOR  – Kicking off their 2022 United Way Campaign, Washtenaw County Employees are reaching out to the public in a “United” effort to collect needed school supplies to students in the Washtenaw County Public School Districts.

“Washtenaw County is home to students in nine, public school districts, and countless other charter, private and homeschool programs.” said County Administrator, Gregory Dill. “I am proud that the staff at Washtenaw County, through our active United Way committee, is committed to ensuring that students all over our county received the supplies they need to start the school year prepared, and ready to learn. We invite the community to share in our efforts. “

Washtenaw County employees and the public-at-large will “Stuff the Bus” with everything from backpacks to pencils to crayons and glue sticks. This year’s campaign has secured support from the following local partners: Wurtzel Family Dentistry, LimnoTech.

From Monday, August 1 through Friday, August 5, 2022, a full-sized school bus will be located at the Target parking lot in Pittsfield Township and the Oak Valley parking lot Ann Arbor from 8:30am-3:00pm. To “Stuff the Bus” with your donation, visit the following locations:

  • Target parking lot, 3749 Carpenter Rd. Ypsilanti, MI.
  • Oak Valley Plaza parking lot (Ann Arbor / Saline Rd.)

  • Calculators (scientific)
  • Display Boards (science fair)
  • Protractors
  • Rulers
  • Personal hand sanitizer
  • Child sized masks
  • Financial Donations (checks, made payable to United Way of Washtenaw County)
