Why do Dexter & Chelsea face-off in the Rivalry Match?

Educational Foundation of Dexter (EFD) and Chelsea Education Foundation (CEF) will once again go head to head to raise money for educational grants in their respective communities.

The annual Rivalry Match has grown out of the competitive spirit of both Dexter and Chelsea schools that goes back decades. It has now become something more than just a fundraiser. Each year before the Friday Night Lights are turned on at the Dexter vs Chelsea football game both communities give generously to the Rivalry Match. When donating you are securing funds for teacher and district grants in your district. These grants provide an enhanced educational experience for all students.

This year has Dexter traveling to Chelsea to face them on their turf. EFD will be at the game looking to retake the title from last year when CEF won bragging rights, by raising $24,099 to EFD’s $21,563. Together it was an all-around victory raising $45,662!

Since 1985, the Educational Foundation of Dexter has awarded over $1million in teacher/district grants that support students from Pre-K to 12th grade in the Dexter Community Schools. Previously funded grants include Digital Cameras for DHS Art Dept., Drones for Mill Creek Flight Class, Horse Therapy for Mill Creek Students with Special Needs, Periodicals for Wylie Library, Emergent Reader Books for Anchor and Beacon Reading Specialist, and support for “Dread Strong” Summer Camp.

Together, we can make it a win-win for everyone.
