Girls Basketball: Chase, Perry help lead Dreadnaughts over Battle Creek Lakeview

The Dexter girls’ basketball team led by one point after the first quarter on Wednesday against Battle Creek Lakeview. And then the Dreadnaughts found their stride and didn’t stop running and shooting and scoring and defending until they crossed the finish line with a 58-40 win in a non-league game.

Dexter led 13-12 after the first quarter before they outscored BCL 15-7 in the second quarter for a 28-19 halftime lead. The Dreads put the game away with a 19-10 run in the third quarter. Both teams scored 11 points in the fourth quarter.

Dexter did a good job of sharing the basketball in the win. Five players scored seven or more points.

Addison Chase had one of her strongest games of the still young season. The fabulous freshman knocked down four triples in the game and finished with 16 points.

Chloe Perry just continues to be a force on both ends of the floor for Dexter. The senior also had 16 points, knocking down two triples and scoring in every quarter.

Kendall Cabana, only a sophomore, dropped three triples and finished in double figures with 10 points. Alena Blumberg, another sophomore, scored nine points and junior Heidi Fuchs added seven points for Dexter.
