A2ZERO Week to Celebrate 3rd Anniversary of City’s Commitment to Climate Action

The City of Ann Arbor’s Office of Sustainability and Innovations is excited to announce the third annual A2ZERO Week!

A2ZERO week is a weeklong celebration of Ann Arbor’s adoption of the A2ZERO plan – a plan that commits the community to reducing greenhouse gas emissions in a just and equitable way by the year 2030. This year’s A2ZERO week celebrates three years since the adoption of the A2ZERO plan with a series of activities taking place from June 4th-10th.

“A2ZERO week is a chance for the entire community to celebrate what we’ve been able to accomplish together, reflect on areas for growth, and chart a course for future success,” said Dr. Missy Stults, Sustainability and Innovations Director for the City of Ann Arbor. “Achieving A2ZERO requires an all-hands on deck approach and that is why we are taking this week to invite everyone into the movement.”

Kicking off with the Dexter-Ann Arbor Run on June 4th and wrapping up with Ann Arbor’s Summer Festival on June 10th, the week is filled with a series of activities for everyone in the community. Portrait drawing by solar-powered robots, circular economy tours, seminars with the Humane Society, climate trivia, movie unveilings, climate-focused board games, plant-forward eating challenges, craft cocktails made from local ingredients, the unveiling of the City’s second resilience hub, and so much more will be highlighted during the week. A full calendar of events can be found at: A2gov.org/A2ZEROWeek.

Special thanks to all the A2ZERO partners and Ambassadors for making A2ZERO and A2ZERO week a success, including: the Dexter Ann Arbor Run, the State Theater and HaveyPro Cinema, the Ann Arbor Distillery, VegMichigan, Blom Meadworks, Connor O’Neill’s and the Citizens’ Climate Lobby, the Main Street Ann Arbor A2ZERO Main Stage, the Bryant Community Center and Community Action Network, All Hands Active, the University of Michigan Museum of Natural History, Destination Ann Arbor and TheRide, Human Electric Hybrids and Mornings with Ella, the Humane Society of Huron Valley, the Ann Arbor District Library, the UM Solar Car Team, the YMCA, and the many local and sustainable businesses supporting the A2ZERO Passport to to fun!
