Capture the flavor of Michigan summer at Ann Arbor Farmers Market
We are open Saturdays and Wednesdays 7 a.m.-3 p.m. at 315 Detroit Street. You’ll find Michigan peaches, blueberries, apricots, plums, apples, melons, sweet corn, heirloom tomatoes, cucumbers, zucchini, salad mix, leafy greens, broccoli, root vegetables, mushrooms, microgreens and herbs. Our farmers will also have cut flowers, house plants, perennials, honey, maple syrup, eggs, pastured meat and poultry, cheese and Lake Superior fish. Our producers will have bread, pastries, gluten free and allergen free baked goods, jam, pickles, spices, hot sauce, salsa, olive oil, juice, chocolate, coffee, tea and mead. Our artisans will have body care products, candles, cards, jewelry, ceramics, clothing, gifts and more! We accept cash, and tokens for credit cards, mobile payment and SNAP/EBT are available at the market office window. Participating farms also accept Prescription for Health, WIC Project Fresh, and Senior Project Fresh coupons. Service animals are welcome. Accessible restrooms are available. Natural Area Preservation stewardship workdays

Saturday, Aug. 5, 9 a.m.-noon, Olson Nature Area. Olson Park was once a gravel pit, but is now a place to play soccer, ride a bike, or take a hike. It’s also home to many butterflies including the declining monarch. Non-native plants are invading the open meadows, threatening pollinator habitats. Help NAP remove these unwanted plants and improve habitat for butterflies and their friends. Meet at the entrance on Dhu Varren Rd, just east of Pontiac Trail. Volunteers will use their hands to pull small-to-medium plants from the ground. Workday sites have unpaved trails and require going off-trail. Preregister through VolunteerHub so NAP can plan on enough staff and supplies for a safe and successful event.
Tuesday, Aug. 8, 10 a.m.-noon, Buttonbush Nature Area. Join us for our last trail-trimming event of the summer at Buttonbush Nature Area! If you’re lucky, you’ll catch sight of the dramatic blooms of the buttonbush shrubs that this natural area is named after. Meet at the park entrance at the end of Hickory Point Drive. Workday sites have unpaved trails and require going off-trail. Preregister through VolunteerHub so NAP can plan on enough staff and supplies for a safe and successful event.

Join GIVE 365 for a stewardship volunteer event in the parks. Projects include garden bed maintenance, playground surfacing, litter pickups and more. The love, lure and lore of the laundry line workshop

Anne Lawrence will take you on a nostalgic trip back in time to the days when everyone hung their wash on the line to dry – when they went online without the internet! There will be memories to share, links between the clothesline and social/cultural issues, history, feminism, psychology, sociology, and ecology.
