Boys Basketball: Huron routs Jackson NW in District semifinal (SEE WLAA photos)

The Huron boys’ basketball team cruised to the District final with an easy 76-35 win over Jackson Northwest in Wednesday’s semifinal game at Huron.

The River Rats will host Pioneer at 7 p.m. on Friday with a District title on the line. Pioneer knocked off Skyline in the other semifinal. The Pioneers defeated the River Rats twice in close games during the regular season – by a combined seven points.

Huron’s game with Jackson Northwest was never in doubt. The River Rats sprinted out to a 21-5 lead in the first quarter and led 37-13 at halftime. Huron outscored the visitors 20-14 in the third quarter and 19-8 in the final quarter.

The River Rats knocked down 11 triples in the win and had four players in double figures. Yaseen Issa and Macari Moore each scored 15 points, Jaydon Keefer scored 13 and Justin Latham finished with 12 points. Evan Tinkham had eight points and Andrew Harding scored six points.
