Water Polo: Pioneers open home schedule with 17-7 victory

The Pioneer water polo team hosted Birmingham Seaholm for their 2024 season opener. It was a slow start in the first minute with Pioneer down by two, but quickly turned it around and won the game 17-7.

Senior Sawyer Thompson had five goals and sophomore Misi Flautner scored three to help lead the Pioneers. Sophomore Elijah Almeida had eight  steals in the win.

The JV team also played an exciting first game of the season. They beat Seaholm 16-4. Freshman Evan Pokryfke had four goals and freshman Will Wood scored three.

The Pioneers will host St. Francis de Sales from Ohio on Thursday. Varsity at 6:15 and JV at 7:15.
