The Pioneer girls’ swimming and diving team continued its perfect season with a 141-45 win over rival Skyline in an SEC red showdown. Both teams finished with strong performances and times.
Pioneer’s team of Bridgette Kamara, Suryn Lee, Meg Pinkerton and Katelyn Van Ryn opened the meet with a winning time of 1:49.65 in the medley relay.
Skyline’s Adrienne Schadler began her big day with a win in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:54.05. Pioneer’s Cecilia Walusek was second (1:55.07) and Jayla Kuzak took third (1:55.83).
Pioneer dominated the 200 IM with Ursula Ott (first, 2:09.80), Reese Heidenreich (second, 2:13.94) and Harper Feyen (third, 2:15.13).
Pioneer also took the top three spots in the 50 free with Van Ryn in first (24.09), Pinkerton second (24.71) and Lee third (26.21). Skyline’s Ankia Vaitkevicius was fourth in 26.25.
Pioneer went one-two in diving with Arianna Pagel first (251.45 points) and Grace Daly second (240.05). Skyline’s Teagan McCallion was third with 209.2 points.
Feyen won the butterfly for the Pioneers with her time of 1:00.91. Skyline’s Sofia Torres was second in 1:01.24 and Pioneer’s Ava Griffith was third in 1:02.62.
Pioneer dominated the 100 free with Van Ryn in first (53.62), Pinkerton took second (54.31) and Lee was third (54.78).
Schadler won her second race of the day for the Eagles. She went 5:07.95 to take first in the 500 free. Pioneer’s Kuzak was second in 5:14.70 and Walusek took third in 5:17.44.
Pioneer’s 200 free relay team of Ott, Heidenreich, Van Ryn and Walusek took first in 1:38.04.
Elizabeth Kamara won the backstroke with a time of 59.89 while Cook took second (1:00.75) and Bridgette Kamara took third (1:01.26).
Ott won her second race of the day with a winning time of 1:04.33 in the breaststroke. Heidenreich was second in 1:09.47 and Skyline’s Torres was third in 1:14.71.
Pioneer’s team of Walusek, Kuzak, Pinkerton and Cook won the 400 free relay in 3:39.74.
