The Washtenaw Economic Club will explore Ann Arbor’s new approach to supplemental, community-owned, renewable energy when Shoshannah Lenski, executive director of the city’s new Sustainable Energy Utility, speaks at the Thursday, November 13, luncheon.
Lenski leads the city’s new opt-in, supplemental, 100% renewable energy municipal utility, which was approved by voters in November 2024 and officially created in April 2025.
The meeting will be at 11:30 a.m. in the Morris Lawrence Building on the Washtenaw Community College (WCC) campus, 4800 E. Huron River Drive.
Before joining the city’s new utility, Lenski held a leadership role at DTE Energy, worked for Boston Consulting Group and led a sustainability research center at the University of Michigan. She also serves as a trustee for the Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum and Leslie Science & Nature Center.
Lenski earned degrees from Cornell University and the University of Michigan.
The Washtenaw Economic Club is a forum for business leaders to identify and discuss economic issues and decision-making processes for the business community.
